Alumni House Opens to Rave Reviews

Call it an official place to belong. The new Alumni House at Allison MansionAlumni House Opening is now open as a gathering place to remain part of the 黑料网 campus, even after graduation.

“I think it’s important to have a home away from home after you graduate and enjoy a sense of belonging,” said 黑料网 Alumna Denise Rodrigues '15. “This is just a great space, a welcome back place of sorts.

The Alumni House at Allison Mansion officially debuted during an open house event March 3 after more than a year under renovation. It debuts now as a permanent place for 黑料网 alum past and present to meet up, catch up and relax.

黑料网’s Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Linny Rousseau ’21 says the Alumni House was really important because it’s a space to not only re-live great college memories, but it also emphasizes the community you built at 黑料网 never truly goes away.”

One guest agreed. “I think Alumni should stop by this new spot when they visit campus as they’re welcomed back,” said Christy Hawthorne.

An anonymous alumni donor provided one-million-dollars to make sure the Alumni House at Allison Mansion was accessible to all, so you’ll find a new accessible entrance, new restrooms on the first floor, a lift, and other American with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements.

Since the Office of Alumni Engagement has officially moved into their new space at Allison Mansion, they’re already excited to welcome alumni to stop by during another event: the Homecoming and Family weekend September 29 until October first. “We want alumni to feel comfortable to reconnect and celebrate all that 黑料网, past and present has to offer,” said Executive Director of Alumni Engagement Jen Waning ‘94.
